Glasgow 1770 - Peated - Rich & Smoky - 700ml in GP

Special features: This peated single malt whisky from the Lowland region of Scotland is made from the finest Scottish Concerto barley, which has been malted over the aromatic, heather-rich peat of the Highlands to a phenol content of 50 ppm. After distillation in traditional copper pot stills, it is matured in virgin oak casks, followed by a finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which adds additional depth and complexity to the whisky. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and without coloring to preserve its natural character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Sweet smoke and intense toffee with notes of lively vanilla, dried dark fruits, and the crisp spice of black pepper. Subtle hints of charred orange round out the bouquet.
• Palate: Tobacco leaves, dark toffee, and cocoa nibs on a background of sweet, soft peat smoke and gentle earthy undertones. Subtle herbal notes of sage add extra depth.
• Finish: Long and soft with notes of salted caramel, licorice, and lingering spice that harmoniously round off the flavor.

Distillery/Bottler: The Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in 2014 in Glasgow and is the first single malt distillery in the city since 1902. With five copper pot stills made in Germany and the finest Scottish barley, the distillery is dedicated to producing single malt whisky, emphasizing local ingredients and artisanal production.
