Arran 10 y.o. Arran Barley (2025)
Special features: This limited edition of the 10-year-old Arran Single Malt was distilled from malted barley grown on the Bellevue Farm of the Currie family on the Isle of Arran. The whisky matured in a carefully selected blend of first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill sherry hogsheads, in similar proportions to the classic 10-year-old Arran. A new batch of the Arran Barley Edition is released annually, with flavor and character varying slightly depending on the harvest, type of cask, and available quantities.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Fresh herbs, light citrus notes, medium sweetness and vanilla, anise.
- Palate: Spicy, ginger and biscuit notes, oak with vanilla, citrus notes and a complex, oily viscosity enhance the fruitiness.
- Finish: Medium-long, dry with lingering citrus and fine ginger and anise notes.
Distillery/Bottler: The Lochranza Distillery on the Isle of Arran was founded in 1995 and is known for the artisanal production of single malt whiskies. The distillery places great importance on traditional methods and uses exclusively water from Loch na Davie, which is filtered through six natural waterfalls. The Arran single malts have received high ratings from whisky critics and at international competitions in the past.
