Glasgow 1770 - 2020/2025 - 5 y.o. - Constantia Wine Cask #20/1399, 20/1400 + 20/1401

Special features: This limited small-batch release from the Glasgow Distillery is characterized by an unusual finish in South African Constantia dessert wine casks, which were used for the first time in the Lowland distillery. The whisky originally matured in first-fill bourbon casks and then developed its complex aroma through the finish in the Constantia wine casks for one year and ten months. A total of only 980 bottles were filled, emphasizing its exclusivity.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Fresh apricot, peach, clementine, accompanied by delicate honey notes and a fine chocolate note.
  • Palate: Sweet and fruity with hints of Manuka honey, accompanied by a creamy texture and nuances of ripe berries.
  • Finish: Long-lasting, with a pleasant sweetness and a touch of spices as well as a subtle wood note.

Distillery/Bottler: The Glasgow Distillery was founded in 2014 and is one of the younger distilleries in the Lowlands. It has made a name for itself with innovative cask maturations and an urban orientation. The goal is to combine traditional Scottish whisky craftsmanship with modern influences. The distillery places great importance on quality and creativity, which is reflected in this special cask selection.
