Jean Fillioux Millesime 1996/2023

Special features: This noble Cognac comes from the renowned Grande Champagne region in France and was harvested in 1996 from Ugni Blanc grapes. After distillation, it matured for over 27 years in coarse-grained French oak barrels, giving it remarkable complexity and depth. It was bottled in 2023 in a limited edition of 1,800 bottles, emphasizing its exclusivity.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: A seductive bouquet of madeleines, candied citrus fruits, beeswax, and quince unfolds.
  • Palate: Rich and complex with notes of plums, yellow peach, as well as pronounced aromas of chocolate, tobacco, and toast.
  • Finish: A deliciously long aftertaste with lingering aromas of candied oranges and a hint of black cherry.

Distillery/Bottler: The Fillioux family has been running the traditional house Jean Fillioux in the Grande Champagne region since 1880. Under the leadership of Christophe Fillioux, who manages the family business in the fifth generation, only their own Ugni Blanc grapes are processed. Distillation takes place in traditional Alambic Charentais stills, and maturation occurs in carefully selected oak barrels. This dedication to quality and tradition is reflected in every drop.
