Special Features:

XO Vieille Réserve combines more than twenty years of oak maturation with origins in Grande Champagne, the Premier Cru of the Cognac region. This cognac matured in French oak casks. Candied and dried fruit, cinnamon and mature rancio shape its character, while subtle hints of Muscat grapes and orange blossom add further accents on the palate.

The cognac is bottled at 42.1% in a 0.7-litre bottle. It contains no added colouring and is not chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dried and candied fruit meet cinnamon and a pronounced rancio note.
• Palate: The cognac is soft and supple on the palate. Subtle hints of Muscat grapes and orange blossom accompany its aromatic richness.
• Finish: The long finish remains dry and aromatic, sustained by a characteristic rancio note.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Pasquet family's connection with its vineyard dates back to 1730. Today, Jean, the son of Jean-Luc Pasquet, and his wife Amy run the estate. Their work encompasses grape growing, winemaking, distillation and cask maturation. The vineyards lie in Grande and Petite Champagne, and the estate has been certified organic since 1998.

Pasquet uses naturally occurring local yeasts for winemaking. The wines are distilled with their lees in a Charentais still with a capacity of 20 hectolitres. In the cellar, the alcohol strength is reduced slowly, with water added gradually through a drip system. This approach connects the family's work in the vineyard with precise care of the maturing eaux-de-vie.
