Plantery (Plantation) Xaymaca Special Dry - Jamaica Rum

Special Features: The name "Xaymaca" comes from the Arawak language and means "land of springs" or "land of wood and water," referring to Jamaica's lush nature. This rum is a blend of pot still distillates from the Clarendon and Long Pond distilleries, aged for one to three years in former bourbon barrels in Jamaica. It is then refined for an additional year in small, used cognac barrels made of French oak. A small portion of a 17-year-old Jamaican rum adds extra depth and complexity to this blend.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Complex aromas of ripe bananas, pineapple, vanilla, bitter orange peels, and roasted pineapple, accompanied by a hint of smoke.
  • Palate: Dry, floral, and fruity notes of rose water, pears, white grapes, apricots, and cinnamon apples, complemented by subtle aromas of coconut milk, allspice, nuts, and bread.
  • Finish: Long-lasting with a balanced mix of fruit, spices, and a subtle oak note.

Distillery/Bottler: Plantation Rum is a brand of the French company Maison Ferrand, known for producing high-quality rums from various Caribbean regions. By acquiring stakes in the Jamaican distilleries Clarendon and Long Pond, Plantation was able to create authentic Jamaican rums and refine them using traditional methods.
