Takamaka Extra Noir Rum
Special features: The Takamaka Extra Noir Rum is produced at the Trois Frères Distillery on the main island of Mahé in the Seychelles. The brothers Richard and Bernard d’Offay founded the distillery in 2002 and use both fresh sugarcane juice and molasses for their rum. The rum is distilled in pot and column stills and then aged in bourbon barrels as well as new French oak barrels. An innovative process with wood pieces from French oak and ex-bourbon wood gives the Extra Noir Rum additional depth and complexity.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Strong aromas of ripe mangoes and roasted nuts, accompanied by notes of brown cane sugar.
- Palate: Full-bodied and spicy with distinct notes of roasted oak, tropical fruits, especially mango, nutty elements, and brown cane sugar.
- Finish: Medium-long with pronounced fruity and spicy notes.
