Vallein Tercinier 5th Generation Tres Vieux Cognac

Special features: The Vallein Tercinier 5th Generation Très Vieux Cognac is produced in France and combines Eaux-de-vie from the vintages 1960, 1962, and 1963. This blend reflects the birth years of siblings Louis and Catherine as well as their brother-in-law Stéphane. The Eaux-de-vie were distilled in copper pot stills using the traditional Charentais method and aged in oak barrels. The bottling is done in a wooden box and has an alcohol content of 46.8%.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: The nose is dominated by ripe, dried fruits such as apricot and peach, accompanied by vanilla and candied notes. Light floral hints blend with nut, cedar wood, and a subtly earthy depth.
  • Palate: The taste is sweet-creamy with dried fruits, vanilla, and pastry. Nutty tones, a pinch of nutmeg, and light licorice complement each other, while dry cedar wood emerges over time.
  • Finish: The finish is long-lasting, initially fruity-spicy, then dry with nut, vanilla, and cedar wood. Subtle leather and rancio notes round off the tasting experience.

Distillery/Bottler: This cognac belongs to the 'Generations' series, which embodies the individual characters of the vintages. The blend from the years 1960, 1962, and 1963 reveals the influences of the Eaux-de-vie used. The cognac is offered as an original bottling, with the production process showing a clear connection to the traditional methods of the industry.
